Malachy Tallack is a singer-songwriter and author. He writes both fiction and non-fiction focused on the relationship between people and place and the links between landscapes and communities. His first book, Sixty Degrees North (2015), is a travelogue, exploring the countries that lie along the sixtieth parallel. The book was BBC Radio 4 Book of the Week and was shortlisted for the Saltire First Book Award. His research took him to Greenland, Canada, Alaska, Russia, Finland, Sweden, and Norway. Malachy’s second book, The Un-Discovered Islands, was named Illustrated Book of the Year at the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Award 2017. Malachy was shortlisted, this year, for Author of the Year in the Scottish Culture Awards. Malachy is also contributing editor to the online magazine The Island Review.
