Jan Miles worked as a children’s book editor for more than seven years, during which time she authored over thirty children’s books. As a staff writer, a ghost-writer, and a writer for hire, she has provided content for a variety of publishers, both in verse and in prose. Her work for children includes every conceivable format, from board and activity books to picture and chapter books. Jan’s first novel, Black, White & Blue, finished in the top 50 (out of 5,000!) in the young adult category of the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award competition. She has just completed her first book-length nonfiction volume, The Post-Racial Negro Green Book, and is now crafting a work of adult literary fiction entitled If These Walls. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, she has lived in New York, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Boston, but she currently makes her home in New Orleans.
